Who: Me (and Rachel) and anyone else who wants to join; find Mommy Run Fast (Laura Peifer, run coach) http://www.mommyrunfast.com/ [All the information about this challenge came right off her page]

What: A whole foods challenge to cleanse your body, mind, and spirit; meal plans; group support

Where: Anywhere 😀

When: April 27 – May 17

Why: Everyone can benefit from a seasonal cleanse to remove the most offensive foods and allow the body time to play catch up.  You will feel the difference within days.

How: Go to http://www.mommyrunfast.com/21-day-reset/ to sign up and receive the following: sample meal plans, e-cookbook, group Facebook page, daily emails, and guidance on mindful eating, etc. [Yes, it does cost money]

So why am I doing this “cleanse” “reset” “challenge” “detox”? Because I want to. Ha. I want to eliminate as much sugars and bad stuff from my diet and body as possible. My diet is a rollercoaster. Going up it is really good, healthy, fulfilling. That only lasts brief moments/days. Going down it is really bad, unhealthy, fattening. The downhill seems soo much longer than the up.

I am tired of being on this drastic rollercoaster. I want to reset and rebuild that rollercoaster. Train my body to not crave those unnecessary junk as much. I want to constantly being going up. And the downhills be small and fewer of them.

So why is it 21 days? Why not an even, round number 20 or a whole month? Well, they say it takes 21 days to form a habit. I’m not a scientist, nor have a done much research on it, but that’s the number they came up with. So that’s the number of days it will take to begin the habit of reducing sugar and unwanted items from my diet.

This is not going to be easy. You guys think I eat all healthy all the time, because that is what I post about. But that’s just not true. But one day I hope to be at least most of the time.

I know what you guys are thinking. Didn’t she try and fail miserably at Whole 30?! You are right, I did. However, this is something different. Not as many restrictions. Not as many rules. So, hopefully, I can stick with this one.

If you guys want to do this same kind of challenge, but don’t want to spend money you can do it all by yourself. There are endless resources on the web about what to eat and what not to eat, etc. Set out the dates, make a plan, and go for it. I will be here cheering you on!

Today is day one! Let’s do this!
